This blog is a connection to My Name is Margaret (Maya Angelou). I am writing a life non-fiction event which happened during the 2016 summer. This writing is about the day of my delivery. It was in the summer 2016 as I was tired of walking in the hot sun. The sun was blazing, the heat was unbearable my friend and I decided to enter the H&M store to cool down and enjoy the air condition of the store. Summer was not my favorite season and on top off that I was 9 months pregnant. As we were doing some shopping my friend noticed that the people in the store where whispering. My friend asked me why all eyes were on us I responded to her that I had no idea of what was going one. We were still trying to figure out what was wrong and an old lady approached me with her shopping cart filled with clothes and said “sweetheart I think your water broke “hearing those words my friend let drop the piece of clothes and screamed “oh my god ’’ I smiled and told her that it was just the sweat from the heat I did not end my word as I heard a big splash.
In less than 5 minute my friend and I rushed at the hospital we arrived in the hospital at 12:15 pm my husband was called. He tried to reassure me as he knew that I did not handle pain well. My blood pressure rose when I saw the needles. My husband took an off from work and came immediately to the hospital. In less than an hour from our arrival, I was placed in the delivery room and the pain was so extreme that I could not breathe properly. I asked for the epidural but the nurse told me that it was time to push. In less than 2 minutes after the nurses’ words I saw the staff whispering and called other staff in the room. I knew something where going wrong when they asked my husband to get out .The room filled up, like we were at the stadium doctor all over the space. They asked me to sign some papers for an emergency C-section. I did not even finish scrabble my signature that I was in the hallway from the operating room. I was in complete sleep and woke up an hour later alone in a cold room. I rose up my forehead and saw a little tuff of hair next to my bed with her dad. She was so precious with her soft skin in that moment I realized that everything I had gone through was worth it, Tiffany my treasure.

Thanks for sharing this post. I remember (and have written) about the births of my children as well.

I loved this story and I enjoyed how you described your surroundings when your water broke.

The ending of this story was such a happy ending. I like the way you showed time references it made the story seem easier to follow along to.
